George Semmes Simpson, The Wayward Pioneer, 1818-1885, by Edward Broadhead. Raised and educated in St. Louis, George Simpson headed west in a wagon train in 1841. Mr. Broadhead details the adventures of this frontiersman as he travels throughout the west, eventually settling in southern Colorado in 1865 near the present town of Trinidad.
